Search Committee Training Presentation

Search Committee Handbook

 

Search training focuses on diversifying applicant pools, eliminating biases and missteps in the sorting and selection steps, and international faculty issues and will include plenty of opportunities to discuss questions and issues brought up by those in attendance.

The Office of the Dean of Faculties is planning several recruitment-focused workshops. Each workshop will be held in the conference room of the Office of the Dean of Faculties, which is located in Suite 108 of the YMCA Building.

Department heads, chairs of search committees, search committee members, and other faculty members are encouraged to attend one of the training sessions. Although you may not have a search open at the present time, please remember that department heads and chairs of search committees are required to have the training prior to the beginning of the search and that the training is only valid for two years.

YMCA Building



Parking

You must have a permit to park on the Texas A&M University campus. Parking is very limited on central campus. If you have access to a business pass from your department, three business parking spaces are available in Lot 20, on the Southeast side of Henderson Hall.  Business spaces are also available in Lot 11, on the Northeast side of Sbisa. Both of these options will require a walk to the YMCA building. The nearest parking garage is the University Center Garage, located at Koldus, across from the MSC. Visitors arriving from West Campus or the Bush School may find it most convenient to ride the bus and disembark at the MSC, which is a short walk from the YMCA building.
