Support for Fullbright Grants

The Office of the Dean of Faculties and the Office of International Programs conducts a program to provide financial assistance to faculty who have received Fulbright Grants. This program was designed to relieve a portion of the financial burden imposed upon individuals who are fortunate enough to receive a Fulbright Grant. Each year an informational workshop will be held for prospective Fulbright applicants.

The provisions of the program are:

Following notification of receipt of a Fulbright Grant, awardees shall prepare, in consultation with their department head, a financial needs request which should include a statement of Fulbright (or other) support for salary, travel, etc. and an estimate of additional support needed for salary including fringe benefits and any other relevant expenses. With regard to travel monies for this purpose, state and university rules will apply.

The department head and his or her dean's office representative shall then confer with the Dean of Faculties to determine how a support package may best be structured to maximize the use of available funds for the benefit of the awardee. Only in rare cases will the department's share exceed one-fourth of the faculty member's total salary.
