Administrative Notification of Faculty Departure

Exit Survey

Your department has notified me that you will be leaving the university. I regret that you are leaving Texas A&M University and I want to wish you well in your future endeavors.

I try to gather insights into, as well as learn from, the reasons why faculty members seek employment elsewhere. This is one of my responsibilities as Dean of Faculties and Associate Provost. For this reason, I would like to solicit any comments you might wish to make (anonymous if you choose) regarding your employment at Texas A&M University. I encourage you to be candid and to take the opportunity to address the issues that you feel are important for me to know. Your comments will be extremely useful in helping me get a better feel for the academic working environment for one of this University’s critical assets, its faculty.

I have attached a brief survey questionnaire that you may wish to use as a guide to help frame your thoughts as well as written comments. However, please do not let it limit your responses in any way. I welcome your written as well as verbal comments. You can e-mail your comments to me directly at (watson@tamu.edu) or by campus mail (MS 1126). If you would prefer an exiting, face-to-face interview, please call my office to get this scheduled. Please be assured that anonymity will be of the utmost importance in handling your feedback. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at (979) 845-4274.

Thank you for your consideration and time for my request. Again, my good wishes to you as you continue your career.

Sincerely,

Karan L. Watson
Dean of Faculties and Associate Provost
Texas A&M University
