Texas A&M University

From humble beginnings in 1876 as Texas' first public institution of higher learning, this research-intensive flagship university was recently ranked third in the nation by the U.S. News and World Report as a "best value" among public universities.

Bryan / College Station

Established in 1859 in honor of William Joel Bryan, Bryan prospered with its robust agricultural resources and a railway system completed in 1876. Planned as a model community, College Station (named as a railway stop by the Postal Service in 1877) burgeoned in the 1960s when the college opened its doors to women and became Texas A&M University.
