  • Dr. Heather Wilkinson joined Faculty Affairs in March of 2022. Her major responsibilities include faculty and academic leadership development, faculty development leave and internal faculty recognition.

    Dr. Wilkinson served for five years in the Office of the Dean of Faculties beginning in 2017 as Associate Dean of Faculties. In 2021 she was promoted to Senior Associate Dean of Faculties. She is Professor in Plant Pathology and Microbiology in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, where she served as Associate Department Head, Chair of the Curriculum Assessment Committee, and Graduate Advisor. She continues to serve as faculty liaison to the Bioenvironmental Sciences Professional Board, a role she has played since 2012. 

    Dr. Wilkinson earned an undergraduate degree in Biology from Boston University (BU), a Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT) also from BU, and a Ph.D in Biology from the State University of New York at Binghamton. She subsequently trained as a postdoctoral scholar and Research Assistant Professor in Plant Pathology at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Wilkinson has spent her entire faculty career at Texas A&M University. 

    Dr. Wilkinson received the 2016 Association of Former Students Distinguished Achievement Award at the College-Level for Teaching.  She served as an SEC Advanced Leadership Development Program Fellow, a Faculty Fellow in the Office of the Provost and an AgriLife Advanced Leadership Fellow.
